Four blocks from the main tourist quarter, La Mariscal, fifteen minutes from the colonial old town, and one block away from the nearest trolley stop.
This section of Quito is the most frequented by tourists with its numerous bars, clubs, travel agencies, embassies, shops, restaurants, bookstores, and handicraft markets, as well as the well-known Amazonas Avenue, “La avenida de los turistas.”
The Cristóbal Colón Spanish School building is in what was once a large traditional colonial style family house. Now, it is a home for our family of international travellers. Here you will find honest, friendly, helpful staff who really do care and want to make sure you have a wonderful stay in the city of Quito.
The Cristóbal Colón Spanish School building has a range of rooms including two resting patios.
The School also has a smoking area/patio where guests can relax, two terraces and a comfortable lounge for reading the newspaper, drinking coffee or watching TV.
A fully equipped kitchen is available to all guests, with facilities including an oven and grill, a toaster, blender and a toasted sandwich-maker, along with coffee and tea makers.
There is a library with dictionaries, travel magazines and tourist guides and information. We also offer a laundry and airport pick-up service.
Part of the building has been adapted to give open-air seating, where tables with umbrellas are set up, so that you can enjoy the equatorial climate and magnificant view of the nearby mountains which reach over 4200 meters.
Our School is sociable, and tourists usually make a host of friends whilst sharing stories of their travels in Ecuador.
The Cristóbal Colón Spanish School building is run by José Aguirre, who warmly welcomes you and will be pleased to help with both your lodging and travel needs. We also speak English.
