Quito – Lago Agrio. Fly for 35 minutes or take a seven hour overnight bus ride to “Lago Agrio.”
Day 1: Lago Agrio - El Puente Depart Lago Agrio at 9:30am & travel two hours in a private shuttle to “El Puente” which is the "door to the jungle." Once there, you'll eat your provided lunch and prepare for a four hour canoe trip down the Cuyabeno River to the lodge. After a delicious candle light dinner at the lodge, take an exciting night walk with one of our native bilingual guides. Fall asleep to the delightful jungle noises and enjoy your night of tranquility.
Day 2: Cuyabeno River. After breakfast, take some Spanish lessons before visiting a local community where you'll experience the native lifestyle while enjoying lunch. In the afternoon you can fish for piranha and then head off to the laguna for a relaxing swim and also enjoy the sunset on the magnificent “Laguna Grande”. You might see several magnificent jungle creatures along the way!
Day 3: Indian Community. After breakfast walk to the Tarapuy Siona Community with one of our naturalist guides who will explain to you all about the culture and traditions of its people. After having lunch you'll hike in the primary forest while listening to explanations about the use of medicinal plants which are very commonly used by the locals in the jungle. When you get back to the lodge, take some Spanish lessons and prepare for dinner. At night, after dinner, there will be a canoe trip in search of caimans (alligators)!
Day 4: Bird Watching. There will be an opportunity for bird watching in the early morning. After breakfast, journey up the Cuyabeno River back to “El Puente." Here you'll have lunch before departing on your 2 hour drive back to Lago Agrio.

Flight or bus ride back to Quito
NOTE: Excursions could vary a bit depending on the weather in the jungle or on the time spent on Spanish lessons.
